Sister Ann Marie (Eulogia) Sabol, a member of the School Sisters of St. Francis, died on April 18, 2004, in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was 90 and in her 74th year of religious life.

Sister earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Villa Maria College in Erie, Pa., in 1950. She also held certifications as a nurse’s aide and hospital ward clerk.

Sister Ann Marie was better known to her students as Sister Eulogia when she taught at parish grade schools in the Pennsylvania towns of Tarentum, Barnesboro, Hellertown, Northampton, Erie, Farrell, Ellsworth, New Castle and Russellton. She also taught in New Jersey, Ohio, Texas and Florida over the years, and at Mount Assisi Academy in Pittsburgh, where she worked with the primary grades. Sister also worked as a nurse’s aide and ward clerk at hospitals in Florida and Pennsylvania.

Sister is remembered for her deep commitment to religious life and for maintaining close contact with those she loved, including Sisters in the Slovakia Republic and Italy. An avid cook, she enjoyed good food and good times filled with both hearty laughs and quiet chuckles.
