It's that time! The Pick-Your-Own (PYO) produce program at our Monocacy Farm Project in Bethlehem, Pa., is under way, allowing patrons to come out to the farm and harvest their own organically-grown produce each week throughout the growing season.

To take part, patrons join the program for a $10 fee on their first visit to the farm and then pay only for the produce they harvest on each subsequent visit throughout the season.

The offerings on any given week include zucchini, yellow summer squash, cucumbers, kale, collard greens, scallions, carrots, beets, lettuce, dill, cilantro and parsley. Many flowers also are available.

The PYO program runs 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesdays, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, and 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays. In accordance with state guidelines and out of respect for those at risk, patrons are asked to wear face masks or coverings when at the farm.

All contributions benefit the Monocacy Farm Project in support of the farm’s Grow Healthy Community Initiative, which provides weekly donations of organically-grown produce to Lehigh Valley soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters throughout the growing season.

The farm is located adjacent to Monocacy Manor at 395 Bridle Path Road, Bethlehem, Pa. 18017. Visitors are asked to use the gravel road entrance that runs parallel to the farm fence (just up the road a bit from the main entrance and across from Cross Creek Road).
