Jesus ascends into heaven. The Apostles were probably confused and saddened. “What comforts them, I believe,” says Sister M. Virginelle Makos, “is the promise of Jesus that He will be with them always. They knew that Jesus is faithful to His word.”
Sister welcomes all to The Promise of Jesus, the final Simply Prayer of the season, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4.
The Apostles have heard Jesus say that we should remain in Him. He prays that we may be one as He and the Father are one. He begs us to remain in Him — as a branch — that we may bear good fruit. He asks us to abide in Him … make our home with Him. Together, we will explore Jesus’ intimate and deep love for us.
