It has been said that the first 40 years in the book of our lives gives us the text, and the next 30 provide the commentary of it. Yes, our elder years have value, are to be celebrated, to be lived fully. This is a time when we discover that our real purpose in life is to understand life, and then to pass that wisdom on. What elders have to give to a world caught up in newness and energy is meaning, experience, objectivity and, yes, wisdom. How important it is to keep growing in this time of life. More than that, we are ready to be models to generations to come of lives lived with God, lived fully and well.
Join Sister Marguerite Stewart and the retreat team for the second annual Senior Day at St. Francis Center for Renewal: Celebrating the Gift of Years, preceded by an opening prayer service and followed by lunch, discussion and sharing with other seniors, and a relaxing walk around our grounds. Share time with our Sisters as we pray together, share together and honor and celebrate our “gift of years.”
