Sister M. Damian (Theresa) Baloga, OSF, 92, a member of the School Sisters of St. Francis, United States Province, in her 69th year of Religious Profession, died on December 12, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Muhlenberg Hospital in Bethlehem, Pa.

Sister entered the community from Sacred Heart Parish, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., in 1945 and professed her first vows in 1947 at Mount Assisi Convent Chapel in Pittsburgh, Pa. She earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Mount Mercy College (Carlow University) in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Sister Damian taught the elementary grades in various schools in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. She also spent time tutoring students in New Milford, N.J. and Closter, N.J., as well as at SS. Cyril and Methodius in Bethlehem, Pa. Upon retiring from teaching, she enjoyed tutoring and working in after-care programs. Her last years were spent at Villa Clare, Monocacy Manor, as a faithful participant in the prayer ministry.

Sister Damian was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Veronica (Filo) Baloga, and her eight siblings: Cyril, Joseph, John, Stephen, Father Damian, Thomas, Cecelia and Anna. She is survived by her religious community, her niece Rita McCall, and great nieces and nephews.

Sister is buried at St. Francis Cemetery at Monocacy Manor in Bethlehem, Pa.
